hiveonline is building sustainable digital economies for communities of farmers in sub-Saharan Africa. It's based on blockchain, laying the rails of the distributed economy, delivered to communities like savings groups and agricultural cooperatives, so members don't need a phone to have an ID, wallet and digital history.  We build alternative credit history based on commercial behaviour, and facilitate market access, cutting out middle men and ensuring farmers get better upsides.  

Our credit scoring measures commitments made and met, such as crop deliveries or regular savings, and we combine AI with tiered validation to prevent gaming.  Customers are rewarded for repeat usage by better access to credit, vouchers for agricultural inputs and bundled incentives.  It's particularly helpful for women farmers who are less likely to have access to devices, and more likely to collaborate in communities.  Financial institutions slash their cost of KYC and credit assessment, and get access to customers they wouldn't otherwise reach.  Buyers can pre-order and pre-buy crops based on digital forecasts.

It's an ecosystem of apps, integrations and dashboards for communities with different levels of literacy, NGOs, government organisations, financial institutions, merchants, buyers and others.  

It's live in Mozambique, Zambia and Uganda, with new rollouts in Nigeria and Lebanon.
