There is no alternative to needle/cannulas that can deliver large drug molecules while being wearable, controllable and standardisable as a platform.

Medicsen´s SMARTPATCH is the only wearable device in the world that enables the delivery of different large drugs without needles or cannulas, by using safe ultrasound waves to temporarily enlarge the skin pores and painlessly administer medication in a controlled manner.

Our innovation comprises 1. the identification through 5 years of in vitro trials, of the optimal combination of ultrasound waves (frequencies, intensities...) to generate a safe skin permeation (trade secret), 2. the invention of a miniaturised and low-powered ultrasound transducer that can produce such waves in a wearable size (Granted EPO + PCT EP3909508A1) and 3. the development of a modular drug delivery patch platform around said transducer, solving challenges such as the transfer of the waves to the skin (filed EPO patent in SEP 2023).

We demonstrated feasibility to TRL6 (proven safe and effective delivery of insulin in vivo with 15 pigs), won over 50 European innovation awards, and secured high-profile Pharma/Medtech partners as Merck, and LOIs from BIOTON or LTS Lohmann stating their interest to validate the technology on human trials.

Now we are validating the technology as a platform with other molecules and fundraise to complete the regulatory pathway.
