Macrocarbon, based in Gran Canaria, aims to grow seaweeds on a large scale for two main purposes: creating bio-based products for the chemical industry, like bionaphtha, and producing biochar for carbon sequestration. Our unique method covers the entire process from seaweed farming to final products. We plan to use a biorefinery method to extract valuable substances (biostim) from the seaweed before turning it into biofuels and biochar through pyrolysis /Fischer-Tropsch. This integrated system is designed to support a global, seaweed-based, sustainable bioeconomy, helping to replace fossil fuels and combat climate change.

Given that the EU has recently passed regulations mandating percentages for SAF to be integrated in the aviation sector, our novel solution can provide the sustainable biomass and thus SAF required by law.
