International Institute of Tropical Agriculture IITA

The international Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is a non profit research organization headquarters in Ibadan,  Nigeria. It was founded in 1967, IITA is focused on improving food security and reducing poverty in the tropical regions of Africa through research and development in agriculture. It's key area of research is crop improvement, pest and disease management,  capacity building, youth entrepreneurship, and sustainable farming system practices (climate smart agriculture)to reduce the impact of climate change.
IITA collaborates with various partners including governments, Universities and private sectors, to promote agricultural innovations and enhance the resilience of farming system.
