Thanks to our bright and driven team, we at Hammer-IMS were able to position ourselves as a top-notch developer, producer and supplier of high-value measuring and inspection systems, mainly focusing on applications of material qualification and process control for various industrial production processes. Our inline measuring and inspection solutions are essential to our customers for reaching the highest level of product quality and process optimization. Our technology consists of innovative, mainly in-house-developed (but also third-party), sensors, cameras, algorithms, process-control software and mechanical platforms. With an exquisite expertise in both hardware and software development related to sensors, rooted from our core understanding of the underlying technologies and physical and chemical principles, we set ourselves apart from the competition and advance in the field of precision measurements. We have been active on the European markets of textiles and plastics since our startup in 2016. Since 2023, we have opened-up a sales office in Spartanburg, South-Carolina, USA. We now have foot on the ground on two continents, which aligns our vision to be a worldwide leading expert in our fields. 

From our initial sensor idea from back in our PhD-days, we have been growing from a two-man company, with its only asset a single sensor-prototype, into an international company providing fully-integrated measuring and inspection systems, generating around 1.25 million € revenue annually with a team of 15 persons. Hammer-IMS inc in South-Carolina (USA) serves as a point-of-sale to the US markets, providing room for demos and acts as a logistics hub for the Hammer-IMS group. The branch imports Flemish-produced products from the Flemish Hammer-IMS headquarters via ocean freight, and makes these products available to the USA domestic market under USA product-conformity regulations. 

Starting from 2024, we have been focusing on a new target market having a higher added-value, and thus a higher need for inline quality-control systems, in the segment of industrial production. To meet the unsatisfied need in this market, the energy-provision for electric vehicles (EV), we will develop two quality control boxes, jointly focusing on important measurement challenges in this market. The cathode and anode films, battery separators, fuel cell membranes and fuel cells’ hydrogen vessel production.

Our company’s vision aligns with four worldwide waves:

1.    Up-cycling waste material into high-quality products will be mainstream in the future, which will furthermore be enforced by governments. This will force production sites to invest in measuring and inspection appliances to maintain product quality even working with non-virgin-grade base materials. 
2.    Material prices will keep on increasing, forcing production sites to accurately track their material consumption rates for the sake of bringing them down to the minimum.
3.    Our high standard of living, which is currently being pursued by the BRIC nations, stands for an industry which has to be compatible with humans and the environment. Hammer-IMS stands for sustainable measuring and inspection systems.
4.    The market of renewable energy grows and there is a need to facilitate this acceleration towards more electrification. 

Hammer-IMS has the vision to become an industrial standard for measurement and inspection for industrial materials. We would like our customers to use the wording “Hammer” as an alternative for a quality-control system. Just like the hammer as the preferred tool to get a nail into wood, we would like our “Hammers” to define the way reshored industries will deal with quality.
