New MOOC available: generating content for online training
Formación y Tecnología (FORTEC), specialized in creating and developing innovative projects related to training, is going to launch MotorIA, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) that is capable, in just a few minutes, of creating e-learning contents of any subject matter. The Technological Institute of Aragon ITAINNOVA has collaborated with FORTEC in the definition of the product, in the design of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and in how to use it based on the Moriarty technology, developed by ITAINNOVA.
The generation of content for online training, in which usually more than one professional is involved, is replaced by an AI that collects and analyses the information from thousands of documents, arranges, classifies and finally summarizes it, providing the pedagogical structure of the desired course (units, lessons, etc.). Human intervention is limited to reviewing the content offered by MotorIA. This process automates the generation of courses by 80%, which is a competitive advantage. Now the machine becomes the key piece in the creation of content, while the human being focuses his contribution on the process of curing it. Semantic intelligence can speed up the process and make it possible to consult a number of sources that human beings are unable to reach. This one goes from being the protagonist of the content generation process to being an assistant of the AI. In addition, it also makes it possible to identify important contents and to propose evaluation activities to the tutor to present to the students. In this way, "you can tell MotorIA that you need a course in a little while and they will find the materials, collect the information and are able to prepare, collect and process in seconds and make the course content available to you," explains Anselmo Navarro Martínez, FORTEC's general coordinator.
Compared to the current non-intelligent editors, "with the use of the MotorIA app, we have calculated an 80% saving of work compared to the conventional course preparation mode," says Angel Esteban Ballano, FORTEC's Project Area Coordinator. With MotorIA comes a revolution in the way training is prepared. The need for a tailor-made course is becoming more and more frequent. "This will be very useful for companies, including universities, as this world is becoming more and more competitive and they need to organize their degree courses in the shortest possible time", they conclude.
