Ifigeneia is the Founder and CEO of e2 architects (2007). rePolis is the continuation of her PhD, which she holds in Architectural Engineering (T.U. Darmstadt, 2012). Ifigeneia has extensive expertise in energy efficiency in buildings and urban-scale sustainability. She has significant experience in sustainability assessments, building energy renovation, and the design and implementation of decarbonization policies for cities and communities.

Since 2008, she has collaborated with both public and private sector organizations within the framework of national and co-funded sustainability-related projects.

She is a visiting professor at the International Hellenic University (postgraduate programs), where she teaches Energy and Environmental Building Design, Energy Retrofit, and Smart Cities technologies. Her academic record includes 13 publications in scientific journals and 18 presentations at conferences and workshops on energy efficiency topics, along with relevant research experience. Her professional focus is on building energy efficiency studies at both the individual building scale and the urban scale.

From May 2020 until May 2023, she developed the cloud tool rePolis, as beneficiary and coordinator of the EU co-funded project “Development of an integrated cloud-based platform for the holistic assessment of the energy and environmental footprint of urban buildings - Re-Polis” (total project budget 575.467,50 €, funding 426.560,00 €). 

Since June 2022, she is beneficiary and coordinator of the EU co-funded project “CACC” regarding the development of a DSS software tool to combat Climate Change in cities (total project budget 91.345,00 €, funding 80.717,00 €). 

Ifigeneia wants to create a strong brand, dedicated to the development of innovative, and easy-to-use tools, to promote urban sustainability, local and central holistic decarbonization policies as well as safe and robust large-scale investments of the private sector towards carbon-free cities. Her main goal is to have two ready-to-sell products/tool by the end of 2024. Extra funding, coaching and management support, will help her ensure constant improvement of her products, as well as safe and efficient market penetration, while investing in further solutions for a brighter future.

e2 is currently developing a suite of digital tools that accelerate the decarbonization of the built environment. While the company is in the process of being formally established, it is currently developing two flagship products:

rePolis (ready): A cloud-based platform that enables cities, REITs and energy stakeholders to instantly assess the energy performance and carbon footprint of buildings, from single assets to entire portfolios. rePolis delivers optimized retrofit strategies, PV potential, grid impact and more with minimal input.

zeroPolis (launching in summer 2025): A strategic planning tool for municipalities to design and monitor local decarbonization plans. It is compatible with the global Covenant of Mayors (CoM) and supports the development of SECAPs, investment roadmaps and multi-scenario policy simulations.

Together, our products bridge energy modelling, urban planning and climate finance, helping users turn sustainability obligations into measurable, profitable action.
