Blade–Made

Blade–Made's mission is to save all End of Life (EoL) windturbine blades from becoming waste by reusing them as secundary material for 

• infrastructural art works
• urban furniture
• playground equipments
• Blade–Made originated from the idea of architecture firm Superuse, who made the very first installation of reused end of life turbine blades in 2008: the Wikado playground in Rotterdam, NL, that has become iconic and still is.

Since 2021, Blade–Made has been established as a label and the co-founders Superuse and New Citizen Design have layed the basis for a scalable repurpose strategy to flatten the curve of blade waste material until recycling has innovated and scaled to upcycling instead of downcycling and low instead of high carbon emissions. 

Blade–Made advocates reuse before recycling from a climate perspective. It is an example of a design intervention with high climate impact and global potential.
