À propos de votre organisation / profil
Algbio treats wastewater and captures CO₂ using microalgae to produce biofuels, bioplastics, and bioproducts while generating carbon credits, contributing to net-zero targets and a circular economy. Operating a 3-ton production facility in Istanbul, Turkey, Algbio integrates sustainability and innovation at scale. Industrial, municipal, and agricultural sectors face major challenges, such as the discharge of wastewater containing nitrogen and phosphorus, leading to water pollution and ecosystem degradation. Algbio’s microalgae-based system removes up to 95% of these pollutants, transforming wastewater into a resource while ensuring compliance with strict environmental regulations. At the same time, by capturing CO₂ from industrial emissions and the atmosphere, Algbio produces algal biomass for renewable biofuel production. These biofuels, manufactured via in situ transesterification, are ASTM-compliant, cost less than other biofuels, and are compatible with existing infrastructure, providing sustainable energy solutions for aviation, marine, and land transport sectors. Algbio’s approach addresses key industrial pain points, enabling companies to meet environmental standards, improve operational sustainability, and reduce dependency on fossil-based systems.
Through its circular economy model, Algbio simultaneously advances wastewater treatment, carbon capture, and bioproduct manufacturing. Microalgae cultivated in Raceway Pond bioreactors effectively remove pollutants such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and COD from wastewater streams up to 95%, while also capturing atmospheric or industrial CO₂ emissions by up to 1.5kg per kg algae mass produced. This dual-function approach supports environmental compliance and carbon footprint reduction, strengthening the link between climate action and industrial resilience. Harvested algal biomass is processed directly into biofuels using energy-efficient methods that bypass traditional, high-energy drying and extraction processes. Residual biomass is utilized to create ISO-tested, biodegradable bioplastics blended with plant-based additives, offering a sustainable alternative to petroleum-derived polymers and contributing to plastic waste reduction, particularly in regions like Europe where over 26 million tonnes of plastic waste are generated annually. With scalable solutions demonstrated through pilot projects and pending TPE and PCT patents, Algbio delivers economically viable and environmentally transformative innovations that address the urgent global demand for renewable energy and sustainable materials.
Algbio’s impact extends beyond environmental compliance; it creates economic value by transforming environmental liabilities into assets. Its biofuels provide a renewable alternative capable of supporting decarbonization in sectors heavily dependent on fossil fuels, while its bioplastics offer a route to mitigating plastic pollution and supporting a circular economy. The company’s technology aligns with evolving regulatory pressures and market demands for sustainable alternatives, positioning Algbio as a key enabler of industrial sustainability. Through continuous innovation and operational excellence, Algbio drives the transition toward a greener, more resilient global economy.
