LAIN TECH S.L. (hereinafter Lain Tech) is a highly innovative and dynamic company specialized in the research and development of cutting-edge technological solutions in the field of electrochemistry and raw materials for the extraction and production of precious metals and other minerals. 
It was founded in 2019 by Dr. Eva María Laín, a biotechnologist trained at Cambridge University with a specialization in electrochemistry. 
The main activity of our company is currently focused on the E-LIX process, a method that facilitates obtaining pure copper and zinc directly from the mine, eliminating the need for traditional smelting processes. Lain Tech has developed a hydrometallurgical solution for the extraction of copper, zinc, cobalt, nickel, lead and precious metals. This novel process for leaching refractory minerals is mainly intended for the treatment of primary sulfides such as chalcopyrite, sphalerite, arsenopyrite and galena, among others.

It works through hydrometallurgical solutions aimed at the efficient and sustainable extraction of these refractory metals, especially in primary sulfides, proving to be highly effective by achieving recoveries above 90% for metals such as copper and zinc. 
The E-LIX™ process is a green technology that generates no emissions and has a negative carbon footprint, as well as minimal water consumption. This process is highly automated, with intelligent algorithms that adapt in real time to the operation. Lain Tech has been recognized as the most innovative start-up in the Community of Madrid in the Emprende XXI Awards. In addition, we have received support from various institutions, such as Ingenieros de Minas del Sur, which support the E-LIX system for the green production of pure copper and zinc at the mine site.
