INOBIOSTAR

INOBIOSTAR was established in 2020 as spin-off company of Klaipeda University for creation and development of innovative sustainable solutions towards clean seas. Our new brand products are InnoAerogel – sustainable, highly efficient, biodegradable and reusable waste paper based material – sorbent for aquatic oil spills clean-up. Even though we are moving toward a fossil-free economy, the world is still very dependent on oil, and there are numerous oil spills every year which have negative impact on local ecosystems, human health, and the economy. The material is lightweight, hydrophobic, and integrates oil degrading microorganisms which ensures that the oil pollutants are not only absorbed but also neutralized to harmless byproducts like CO2 and water. Compared to the oil sorbent competitors mentioned above, InnoAerogel is 2x lighter, 2x more effective, 100% more sustainable and biodegradable, and reusable up to 5 times. Due to the reduced material usage, operational costs, environmental impact and increased efficiency, InnoAerogel is positioned at the forefront of the innovations regarding oil sorbents, a high performing, cost effective choice in oil spill management.

INOBIOSTAR is an active member of the BlueInvest EU community and Cleantech Cluster Lithuania. Recently, we were honored to receive the Women TechEU as well as EIC Accelerator grants from Horizon Europe, which supports our mission to develop clean sea technologies.
