Wipes are a huge and growing problem for the environment. Wipes are used everywhere - personal care, medical, cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting, feminine intimate, makeup removal, toilet, etc. Currently, 75% of wipes are made of synthetic fibres (plastic). They don't biodegrade but rather end up in landfills, nature, or the oceans, where they break down into microplastic pieces. Many wipes are flushed down toilets where they clog sewage systems. These wipes wreak havoc with environmental and economic damages estimated at $1B yearly.

The global size of the wipes market was 1.657 million tons in 2018 with sales divided as follows:  Europe  28%, Asia 35%, North America 27%, and the rest of the world 10%.  The global industry is $20B with a ~5% CAGR.
