Specto Photonics

Specto Photonics is an Italian based deep tech startup that commercializes the first-of-a-kind ultra compact and chip-based Brillouin spectrometers. Our devices provide optical access to unique mechanical properties (e.g. stiffness and viscosity) of biomaterials, such as cell and tissues, without the need of contact -  as opposite to conventional methods. Mechanical properties are at the hearth of several biological processes and their changes are responsible for the onset and progression of age related diseases. As such, our plug&play Brillouin spectrometers are capable of providing a deeper understanding and an early diagnosis of cardiovascular, ophthalmic and neurodegenerative diseases.
