Safe & sound : Empowering IoT for a Safer World

As an INRIA deeptech spin-off, we provide privacy-first, embedded AI that transforms IoT devices into safety guardians. Our Sound Detection as a Service (SDaaS) instantly identifies critical alarming sounds like distress, pain, falls, aggression, and emergency alerts.

Unlike traditional audio solutions, our embedded AI uniquely analyses intonation and environmental patterns while avoiding speech detection to respect privacy by design.

We partner with B2B companies in Telecare, Home surveillance, and Smart home to integrate cutting-edge sound intelligence directly into their products, enhancing people's safety without compromise.

Sonaid has been created since April 2023. We made a first fundraising of 300k€ in summer 2023 and we plan to launch commercially in 2025.

Who are we ?

Nicolas is the founder and CEO of Sonaid and a social entrepreneur driven by impactful business cases. With a PhD in ambiant sound recognition and his worldwide contribution on sound event detection, he decided to create a business to help people thanks to sound. 

Sébastien Vuillemin is a 4 times entrepreneur (CTO) in France and the US. Since May 2024, he's the CTO of Sonaid. 

Hélène Jaffrelot, repeated founder and ex-head of a startup accelerator just arrived as a head of Sales to scale Sonaid to a whole new dimension.

He's surrounded by Nadi Bou Hanna (Ex CIO of the French administration) and Sacha Krstulovic (ex CTO of AudioAnalytic, acq by Meta).

Sound revolution is coming

Sound Event Detection allows to detect any type of ambient sounds : alarms, doors, car accident, animals, electronic appliances, etc. First created products arise in predictive maintenance, smart home, noise pollution, environment.
