Renaissance Fusion

Renaissance Fusion (RF) is a deeptech company with a breakthrough solution to the hardest and most rewarding energy problem: bringing fusion power to the grid. RF’s unique solution combines the proven stellarator fusion device with proprietary manufacturing of next-generation superconducting magnets and with liquid metal (LM) walls. Its team, Board and advisors include some of the world’s top experts in fusion, engineering and energy markets. In 2022 the company closed a €15M seed round. In 2023 it received a 10 M€ grant from BPI France, plus in-kind support from CEA. In 2024 it demonstrated the levitation of thick liquid metal walls that will cope with the extreme conditions of fusion reactors. Renaissance Fusion is currently raising its Series A, for which it found its lead investor, to achieve two milestones: (1) prototype and start commercializing in 2025 innovative superconducting products, initially in non-fusion markets and (2) build its first, reduced scale fusion module. The company is based in Grenoble, France, with a subsidiary in Switzerland.
