We're Pineapple on Pizza Studios, a Games and Digital Arts Studio!
Based in South Africa, we're a group of ambitious artists aiming to carve out our space in the local games industry, and further bring our craziness to the world!
We're a Unity based Studio, focusing Mobile and Indie games.
We banded together in the final months of our university careers to create our own studio in October 2022
In a fledgling local industry, we saw an opportunity to capitalise, create jobs, and build a sustainable games studio.
In 2023 we were incubated by Tshimologong Precinct, and went on to be nominated for multiple Rising star awards, and placing podium at multiple industry events.
In 2024 we joined the Google Indie Games Accelerator, as the ONLY South African Studio to ever enter the program. The program connected us with top class mentors and studios across the globe, culminating in an awards and networking event in Bangalore, India.
We went on to further join the Creation Africa program by Institut Francais in collaboration with BPI France, where we took home a Top 12 position and €40 000 funding. This startup capital has helped develop prototypes, but when it comes to games, the real cost is User Acquisition, and that's why we're looking for further investment
Right now, we're targeting the South African audience, with localised content built to connect right to the hearts of our people. With a blooming audience of gamers, and an even larger audience of South Africans, the mobile games industry in South Africa is rife with possibilities.
