MIPRONS SRL is an innovative company founded in Italy in 2019, that develops a high-performance, miniaturized water electrolysis propulsion system for space applications, in particular for satellites weighting from 10kg to 700kg. Our mission is to enhance the efficiency, safety, and profitability of those satellites’ operations by leveraging our patented technologies to make space exploration, in-situ resource utilization, and satellite maneuvers faster, more cost-effective, and sustainable.

MIPRONS' propulsion system utilizes readily available and non-toxic water as a propellant, splitting it into hydrogen and oxygen gases (H2-O2) through in-space electrolysis. These gases are then introduced into an innovative micro-combustion chamber, where they are ignited to generate high thrust. So the two main components of the system, both protected by patents, are: 1)  High-Pressure Stackable PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) Electrolyzer; 2) Innovative Micro-Combustion Chamber.
