Hidramed Solutions Ltd
À propos de votre organisation / profil
HidraMed Solutions was founded by CEO Suzanne Moloney, to provide wound care management for people living with a specific chronic wound condition called hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), a lifelong, debilitating skin disease affecting approximately 7.5 million Europeans. HS wounds require regular medical intervention and daily wound care with wounds presenting in classically difficult to dress areas of the body, namely the buttocks, groin, and armpits.
Suzanne has been living with HS since she was 13 years old. She has had a long journey with HS and felt that the HS community was often underserved by the healthcare industry. As her frustrations with her HS skin condition grew, so did her need to do something about it.
As an active member of many online HS communities, Suzanne knew she wasn’t alone in her frustration. She talked to other HS patients and interviewed multiple dermatologists and HS specialists. Two things became very clear to Suzanne: there is no established cause of HS or how lesions initiate. This meant the likelihood of a pharmaceutical, topical, or procedural based solution was unlikely to be developed in the near future. One of the biggest challenges for people living with HS is the daily management of their wounds.
From this, the idea of HidraWear™ was born. In conjunction with several 3rd level institutions, dermatologists, tissue viability experts and patients, HidraMed developed and patented a unique and disruptive platform technology, HidraWear, an adhesive-free wound dressing solution that ensures secure dressing of wounds in difficult to dress and fragile skin areas of the body. Use of HidraWear wound dressing technology for this patient population has been clinically proven to dramatically enhance the quality of life for people managing wounds in those areas, while reducing the burden of health care service support by 82% for this highly distressed patient group.
Suzanne’s work in developing a wound care management solution for HS – designed by a patient for a patient – has been recognised for its clinical excellence, including winning the Best Clinical Research Award from the Journal of Wound Care Awards 2023. HidraWear was the Advanced Wound Care Summit Innovation Showcase Winner in 2023 .
Now HidraMed is bringing its paradigm-shifting, clinically proven wound care technology to the management other chronic wounds (such venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, and pressure sores), to enable patients living with these wounds the same freedom as HS patients.
HidraMed Solutions has developed and patented a class 1 medical device called HidraWear®; a non-adhesive wound dressing system, initially focused on a disease known as hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), which covers many different types of wounds, from open surgical incisions to ulcerating wounds, tunnelling wounds, fistulas, papules comodones, plaques, inflammatory nodules, and pustules. HidraMed’s vision is to become the leading adhesive free wound dressing solution provider for all chronic wounds, starting with venous leg ulcers (VLUs).
A key route of market is to achieve reimbursment from Insurance operators in key markets like the UK,US and Germany for our dressings and devices. This has been acheived and enables us to work with key distributors like Mediq (UK and pan European), Rotech and Prism ( US) in each of the markets.
