Green BuildInvest Initiative

Green BuildInvest Initiative (GBI) is the Dutch partner of the Horizon 2020 BUILDINTEREST project. This H2020 project focussen on barriers & solutions involved with investing in sustainable real estate. 

Our main objective is to take down barriers for investors and financers to boost investments in energy efficient buildings. This is done by:

• Supporting a dialogue (platform)
• Facilitating knowledge (both creating new and connecting existing)

Although GBI focuses mainly on the financial side of Energy Efficient buildings, governmental policy (both local and national) is an important tool in guiding investments in EE real estate.

Via the platform we are engaging stakeholders (events and knowledge input) and try showcase knowledge and solutions. Currently we are creating a separate website, but it will be closely connected to Duurzaam Gebouwd, our existing platform for the technology side of sustainable buildings.

Green BuildInvest has 100+ stakeholders. Duurzaam Gebouwd (technology platform) has 250+ stakeholders involved.

Next to te platform we are actively engaged in several projects and we started our own knowlegde project on the valuation of EE measures in building. The valuation of EE measures is very much a ‘black box’ for valuators and even though it is part of the EVS and IVS, both don’t give a good idea of the information to put in the IVS and EVS. Via discussion and in relation to RICS and TEGOVA we are looking at ‘lighting’ the black box
