GliaPharm is biopharma company focused on discovering innovative drugs for neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disease by targeting glial cells instead of neurones (neurones are the cells traditionally targeted by pharma for these diseases, with mixed success. Fundamental and translational research is increasingly showing that glial cells play a key role in the functioning of the brain and the mechanism behind these diseases. The company stems from 30 years of strong science led by Prof. Magistretti's lab at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland). The company has build a drug discovery platform that aims to revolutionise the way we treat these diseases.
