À propos de votre organisation / profil
Flainar is a deeptech startup that integrates mental health, wellness and culture into a personal care ecosystem. It combines therapy with artistic experiences to provide a customized daily cultural prescription, starting with a four-week guided program.
Since 2021, the company has operated primarily in the digital health and wellness sector, with R&D focused on a therapeutic model and a recommendation algorithm that personalises the cultural prescription through AI. We use mobile phones to promote emotional interactions with people, places and cultural objects. We are evidence-based and aligned with future certifications (medical device).
In the clinical context, the therapist prescribes the app and monitors the patient's progress via the dashboard. The guided health programs cover dozens of therapeutic and wellness goals (mental health, chronic pain) without invasive devices, providing cultural content and structured exercises.
Harnessing the enduring power of culture and the arts, the platform addresses various mental health challenges such as stress, anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness and behavioral conflicts. Users self-assess their emotional states and therapeutic goals, enabling the app to tailor recommendations that promote self-awareness and personal growth, with the goal of improving quality of life by complementing traditional pharmacological and therapeutic treatments.
The target audience includes people looking for digital wellness solutions, healthcare providers focused on alternative therapies, companies combating absenteeism due to stress, insurance companies, wellness tourism and services for the elderly - potential market $450K million (2025), wellness apps +15% per year.
The company's technological framework comprises a mobile application, a geospatial data map, and an AI-driven recommendation system. The app integrates gamification, crowdsourcing, journaling and emotional training, reinforcing adherence and community interaction. These components work in unison to deliver a holistic user experience, merging cultural exploration with mental health support. Flainar's commitment to innovation is further evidenced by its extensive research and development efforts, involving a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, programmers, and artists.
In addition to its digital offerings, Flainar engages with organizations to promote social responsibility and impact. By integrating partners, content, and activities into its prescribing model, the company measures outcomes against user benefits and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), thereby aligning its mission with broader societal objectives.

Scalability / growth plans
In 2025, we will carry out observational clinical studies in Portuguese hospitals and primary care centres, targeting TRL 6–7. This phase includes calibrating the health algorithm, collecting data to expand our programs from 4 to 8 weeks, and enhancing the AI-driven personalization model. The MVP for individual users is expected in Q4 2025.
We will enter the wellness market first, while aiming to achieve Medical Device certification (Class I) within three years for specific health programs.
Based on 2025 outcomes, we plan to begin commercialization in healthcare institutions involved in our studies and reach additional ones. Between Q4 2025 and Q3 2026, we will launch a pilot in a company and a TestBed in Aveiro (Portugal), spanning cultural venues, healthcare settings, and individual user contexts.
An up-selling strategy for B2C will be rolled out, offering premium content, access to geospatial services via our cultural map, and advanced features in health programs.
By the end of 2026, we will introduce therapist dashboard tools to support mental health consultations, with tailored materials for chronic pain, loneliness, and oncology.
From 2026 to 2027, we will test health tourism models using our developed tools and dashboards.
Starting in 2027, we will initiate internationalization, first by adapting the platform to European languages. Portugal is our entry market. By year three, we plan to approach Spanish- and/or English-speaking markets.
Our solution is positioned at the intersection of smart cities, healthcare, and culture, with strong relevance in social cohesion and resilience strategies.
