Our core business is job-training for deaf and hard of hearing people using sign language as instructional language.

We are also involved in research and development in the field of sign language. We closely work together with the Alpen Adria University Klagenfurt, to develop, document and spread missing signs for special, new topics e.g. anatomy or technology.

The organizational culture builds upon lived bilingualism, multiculturalism and diversity management. equalizent stands for the inclusion of people regardless of their origins or background, age, gender, sexual orientation or disabilities.

Our work empowers people so that they can contribute to society actively and on their own terms. Furthermore, we aim to shape public opinion in society and politics and to contribute to the acceptance of real diversity. Based on this concept we also offer diversity management consultancy.

Target groups: Deaf and Hard-of-hearing, companies/individuals interested in sign language and diversity management

Hearing People are also welcome to learn Austrian Sign Language in our courses. Furthermore, we support companies through consulting and products for diversity management.

Since its foundation in 2004, equalizent developed into a successful company that keeps on growing and proves that social engagement and business success can go hand in hand. Currently, the (deaf and hearing) team consists of 48 employees and 10 freelancers. All employees are skilled in Austrian sign language.
