Enerpaper is an Italy-based producer of energy-efficient, sustainable building materials. The company has developed a cellulose insulation, made from 100% recycled fiber, which provides better thermal insulation than competitive products, using less than half the material. Enerpaper leverages an innovative production process which results in significant performance advantages, lower production and transport costs, and faster installation.
Cellulose flakes  are produced today in dedicated plants with high fixed investment. Base material is recycled newsprint with a high percentage of blank paper. Material is stored in plastic bags of low density. Installation requires one dedicated resource, working in a dusty environment, to continuously refill a blowing machine.
Our solution is based on reels of paper impregnated with designed chemicals, and produced in outsource by paper mills. Reels are flaked during installation through a automatic blowing machine. Our approach allows substantial improvements in each part of chain of value:
- high scalability with strong reduction of capex associated, leveraging on paper mill industry ;
- minus 30% of overall production costs;
- minus 50% chemicals with elimination of boron salts and residual inks;
- strong reduction both in storage and in transport;
- minus 40% workload for machine refilling;
- improvement of workplace healthiness;
- half material with better thermal conductivity;
- significant reduction of CO2
