Catalyxx Procesos Catalíticos SL, based in Spain, was established in 2018, emerging as a frontrunner in green chemistry to convert plentiful bioethanol feedstock into various chemicals and fuels as a substitute for petroleum. Our initial focus involves upscaling the conversion of bioethanol into longer-chain linear alcohols like n-biobutanol, n-biohexanol, n-biooctanol, and n-biodecanol, that are used in our everyday life (as solvents, chemical intermediates, polymers, textile industry, personal care products, chemical manufacturing, fuel additives, food industry, and adhesives and sealants). During the last 5-years we have advanced our technology from concept to operation demonstration in a Demonstrator plant in 2023, showcasing production of bioalcohols and reaching Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7.
