Bright Sensors SA has developed a fuel quality sensor for Heavy Duty Natural Gas Vehicles. The sensor is used optimise combustion based on the fuel quality and can improve efficiency by 5% to 20%.

This has immediate applications for Natural Gas-Diesel dual fuel conversions for Heavy Duty trucks where fuels savings can be in the order of EUR 1,000s. This means the cost of the sensor can be quickly paid off in addition to the cost the conversion making it an attractive offer to the conversion kit producer and end user.

1.5 quadrillion BTU of natural gas is consumed by vehicles every year. A 5% saving in fuel cost would equate to a \$1 billion reduction in fuel costs at the pump.
