Bio2watt now registered as Bio2watt Energy Holdings focuses primarily on waste to energy or waste to value on the African continent.

Our flagship project the Bronkhorstspruit Biogas Plant started generating 4.6MW power into the national grid in 2015 supplying power to BMW in Pretoria, South Africa, roughly 30% of their power requirements.

Based on the success of our first project we are in the process of replicating our model in other cities in South Africa as well as in other countries on the African continent.

Our projects make use of organic wet waste from essentially the food & beverage industries & the agriculture sector to produce energy in the form of biomethane or power. The spent product once energy has been extracted is an organic soil enhancer registered in South Africa as a category 2 fertiliser.

other products also include the possibility to produce food grade liquified carbon dioxide and in the case of Combined Heat & Power CO2 for greenhouse farming.

Our solution for industrial clients is not restricted to waste to energy as where appropriate Solar PV can be offered as a hybrid solution to offer the most competitive energy solution as biogas/ biomethane can be stored and use to match the profile of the client.
