Globally, 1bn people still lack access to electricity and many more are connected to unreliable grids. Simultaneously, prices for solar energy and storage have fallen by more than 80% since the 2000s. To unlock this market potential of USD 65 bn, we created a B2B platform to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs in emerging markets: We provide turnkey solutions for local distribution partners to finance and deploy affordable clean energy products to households & SMEs in Africa who are off the electricity grid or under electrified. This allows them to focus on sales, while MPower’s solution – backed up by our innovative software – help them scale.

Key to scale is our software platform: It digitizes our operations, facilitates product tracking and payment collection, which results in data-driven decisions. By collecting valuable end users' data, we are able to develop credit profiles and rating schemes of our end users enabling consumer financing while mitigating default risks.

We target households and SMEs in Africa and generate a quantifiable social and environmental impact in a financially sustainable manner! MPower launched operations in August 2018, is now active in 5 core markets (Zambia, Cameroon, Togo, Namibia and Ghana), grew to a team to more than 38 and raised > EUR 5m in equity, debt and grants.
