Freeform Injection Molding (FIM) is a novel platform that combines the low start-up costs and short lead-times from 3D-printing with the scalability and versatility of injection molding. By offering product developers to prototype on injection molders - and with the materials they will use for the commercial products, Freeform Injection Molding shaves months off times-to-market. In addition, dramatic pre-market investment reductions lead to dramatic product management risk reductions, and substantial reductions in total product lifecycle costs.

Now AddiFab, inventor of the Freeform Injection Molding, is getting ready to offer FIM to the US audience. Together with Mitsubishi Chemical Americas and Alba Enterprises, AddiFab will be show-casing Freeform Injection Molding at the RAPID + TCT trade show in Detroit. The goal will be to demonstrate how Mitsubishi off-the-shelf high-performance granulates are made additive by means of Freeform Injection Molding.
