BANG at the 1st Athens Innovation Festival (November 2017)
On Tuesday, November 21 2017, the workshop of the Business Angels Network of ACCI - BANG took place with great success, as a part of the 1st ‘Athens Innovation Festival’ at the Zappeion Palace. At the workshop the aims, the activities and the strategy of the Network were presented by the President of BANG and VicePresident of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Pavlos Thomoglou. The panel included 3 business angels (I. Mathios, A. Beikiras, F. Theofilaktos), BANG Advisor Prof. P. Alexakis, and 2 startuppers (B. Sioros from ArdusTech & E. Koutsouraki from Kalathos) to share their experience from their interaction with the Network. The workshop was coordinated by CSR – ACCI and BANG Director - Prof. Th. Palaskas. Mr. Pavlos Thomoglou stated that "the BANG - ACCI has already taken the following steps: a. forwarded proposals to the Greek about the institutionalization of the BANG and its members b. has designed and started implementing its Business Plan to develop the National Business Angels Network with the collaboration of the of local chambers and c. strengthens and expands its international presence by creating partnerships with European and global institutions, such as Business Angels Europe and the Global Entrepreneurial Network".
Having completed the session of panel presentations the B.A members of the BANG interacted in subsequent meetings with more than 20 startups. The scientific team of the Network encouraged the startups to forward their business plans, to be brought to the attention of the Business Angels of the ‘BANG’, after their evaluation from the scientific team.
