Founded to promote health through safe, nutritious food, our mission at Tellspec is to advance universal health equity through responsible, human-centred AI and spectroscopy, driven by the belief that personalised nutrition can prevent and cure disease. Tellspec develops portable, cost-effective Near-Infrared (NIR) spectrometers integrated with AI analytics for food, agriculture, and life sciences. Our Enterprise System, used by over 200+ organisations worldwide, supports food-freshness testing and ingredient quantification. As part of this mission, we are developing the Preemie System, an end-to-end solution designed to optimise preterm infant feeding through AI-driven analysis and fortification. While Preemie is a dedicated project, it is part of Tellspec’s broader mission to improve health outcomes through innovative technologies.

Our team of experts spans spectroscopy, data science, software, medical regulation, and business development. To support commercialization, we will expand to include expertise in marketing, distribution and legal. Tellspec’s founder & CEO, Isabel Hoffmann, is a serial entrepreneur who has founded eight companies, has negotiated numerous strategic partnerships and raised equity. Her awards include the 2018 Women in Innovation Award, presented by EIT. She is joined by Dr. Pedro Vaz (Head Scientist), an expert in medical spectroscopy, Paolo Satta (COO), a specialist in regulatory affairs, and Rafael Queiros (CTO), a senior cloud architect and AI expert.
