IrWise is an innovative start-up specialising in smart irrigation solutions based on artificial intelligence, addressing the growing challenges of water scarcity and inefficient farming practices. Our mission is to provide a technological response to the crucial issues facing farmers in regions where water resources are limited, while contributing to the sustainability of agricultural practices.
Context and issues: With increasing droughts, soil degradation and the effects of climate change, water management has become a major issue for agriculture worldwide, particularly in arid and semi-arid regions. Traditional irrigation practices often waste a large proportion of water resources, affecting crop productivity and jeopardising food security. It is in this context that IrWise provides an innovative and sustainable solution.
Our Solution: IrWise offers an intelligent irrigation platform that uses advanced artificial intelligence algorithms to analyse weather data, soil conditions and crop needs in real time. This provides precise, personalised irrigation recommendations, ensuring that each plot receives the optimum amount of water needed to maximise yields while reducing water wastage.
Technology and features: Our solution is distinguished by its long-range wireless system, capable of covering large areas (up to 150 km²) with a range of 7 km between devices, and operating even in remote areas thanks to sensors powered by photovoltaic panels. This system enables fine, continuous irrigation management, even in regions where connectivity is limited.
IrWise also relies on a set of robust and reliable hardware components, such as the GW-RF868-4G, MN-RF-4S, VN-RF-2S, and SN-RF-S2 modules, ensuring smooth data transmission between the sensors in the field and our central platform. The intuitive user interface allows farmers to monitor and adjust their irrigation system from their smartphone or computer, improving decision-making and resource management.
Environmental and Social Impact: The adoption of the IrWise solution significantly reduces water consumption in irrigation systems, helping to conserve water resources while increasing farm productivity. In addition, our technology promotes more sustainable crop management, helping farmers to adapt to the challenges posed by climate change. By supporting more resilient and sustainable agriculture, we are contributing to food security in water-scarce regions.
Business model: IrWise operates on a B2B (Business-to-Business) business model, selling both hardware (sensors, gateways, wireless modules) and subscriptions to services based on real-time data analysis and system maintenance. We also offer tailor-made solutions for large farms, cooperatives and agricultural institutions.
To encourage the adoption of our technologies in the most vulnerable regions, we work in partnership with financial institutions, NGOs and governments to set up programmes to support smart irrigation. By combining these collaborations with our technological innovations, we aim to democratise access to more efficient water management and help farmers become more competitive and resilient in the face of climate change.
Strategic Partnerships: IrWise strives to create strong partnerships with key players in agriculture, finance and the environment. We have already initiated collaborations with local agricultural cooperatives, impact investment funds and international organisations dedicated to sustainable water management. These partnerships enable us to accelerate the deployment of our solutions and reach new markets.
Expansion and Vision: We have begun operations in Tunisia, where the need for efficient irrigation is great. Our aim is to expand our presence in North Africa and the Middle East, two regions particularly affected by water-related challenges. In the longer term, we plan to expand into other global markets facing similar challenges.
Our vision is to become a world leader in intelligent water management for agriculture, providing innovative and sustainable solutions that benefit farmers, the environment and communities.
