AirScan is an agritech deeptech startup developing a drone-based software solution that revolutionizes forest inventory. Our mission is to replace outdated, manual forestry methods with automated, data-driven insights—supporting sustainable forest management and a circular bioeconomy.

The Challenge
Forestry is still largely reliant on manual, time-consuming field measurements, based on limited sample trees and extrapolation. These outdated methods hinder precision, scalability, and real-time decision-making—making it difficult to manage forests sustainably in the face of climate and economic pressures.

Our Solution
AirScan automates forest inventory with drone-based aerial imaging and advanced software analytics. We measure individual trees at scale, calculating key indicators like tree height, trunk diameter, timber volume, and basal area—a vital metric for understanding forest density and determining sustainable harvesting thresholds.

This precision enables forest managers to create harvesting and regeneration plans that maintain ecological balance while maximizing economic return. Our technology supports real-time, data-driven decisions that minimize waste and promote long-term forest health as part of a regenerative, closed-loop system.

Market Opportunity
As carbon accounting, biodiversity monitoring, and nature-based solutions become regulatory and economic priorities, demand for accurate forest data is rapidly rising. AirScan delivers the granularity and reliability needed by landowners, government agencies, and carbon market actors—unlocking new value in sustainable forest use and environmental transparency.

Milestones
In 2023, we developed our MVP and completed our first successful pilot projects. In 2024, we surveyed over 50 hectares of forest for state and private clients, validating our technology and opening pathways for scale. Our next steps include commercial expansion and deepening our role in regenerative land use strategies
