À propos de votre organisation / profil

ATLANT 3D is a European deep-tech company pioneering a fundamentally new approach to micro- and nanofabrication. Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, ATLANT 3D is the inventor of Direct Atomic Layer Processing (DALP®), a patented technology that enables digital, selective, and additive manufacturing of advanced materials—directly at the atomic level.

The company’s mission is to reshape the way advanced electronics and functional materials are designed, prototyped, and manufactured. In doing so, ATLANT 3D aims to provide a universal platform for rapid, scalable, and precise fabrication of next-generation devices in sectors such as semiconductors, photonics, aerospace, quantum, healthcare, and energy systems.

Traditional microfabrication relies on subtractive processes such as photolithography and etching, which are inherently complex, inflexible, expensive, and environmentally taxing. These methods limit the pace of innovation and require extensive infrastructure. ATLANT 3D’s technology provides a new paradigm—one that eliminates the need for masks, resists, and cleanroom-intensive processes, while enabling atomic-scale control and material diversity.

Direct Atomic Layer Processing (DALP®) is based on principles of Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), enhanced with localized, digitally controlled gas delivery and direct-write capabilities. Using MEMS-based micronozzles and a high-precision motion platform, DALP® allows for on-demand patterning of functional thin films on a wide range of substrates—flat, 3D, or irregular. The platform supports over 450 materials, including oxides, nitrides, and metals, and can switch between them in real time. This opens the door to creating fully custom material stacks, microstructures, and devices with atomic-layer resolution.

ATLANT 3D’s commercial systems include the NANOFABRICATOR™ LITE and NANOFABRICATOR™ FLOW platforms. NANOFABRICATOR™ LITE is a compact, lab-scale tool designed for R&D institutions, enabling rapid prototyping, materials discovery, and advanced device development. NANOFABRICATOR™ FLOW is a scalable, industrial platform for multi-material deposition at higher throughput, targeting advanced packaging, MEMS, microfluidics, and photonic integration. Both platforms are modular and digitally driven, providing flexibility for diverse applications.

The technology enables transformative capabilities. In microelectronics, it allows direct integration of new materials for high-performance chips and backend-of-line customization. In aerospace, it supports miniaturized, radiation-hardened electronics and in-situ manufacturing for extreme environments. In healthcare, it facilitates fabrication of biosensors and lab-on-chip systems with precise surface properties. In quantum and photonics, it offers layer-by-layer fabrication of structures with tightly controlled optical and electrical behavior.

Beyond technical performance, DALP® offers sustainability benefits. As an additive, maskless process, it drastically reduces material waste, chemical usage, and energy consumption. It simplifies the production chain, reduces cleanroom dependence, and shortens innovation cycles, making it a powerful enabler of more sustainable and accessible electronics manufacturing worldwide.

ATLANT 3D operates in a growing global ecosystem of customers and partners. It collaborates with leading universities, space agencies, and technology companies. The company has secured support through EU innovation programs and national R&D funding, and continues to scale its operations and market reach. With strong IP protection, a world-class technical team, and a rapidly expanding product offering, ATLANT 3D is positioned at the intersection of advanced manufacturing, materials science, and automation.

The company's long-term vision is to establish DALP® as a universal microfabrication platform, enabling “atomic printing” for everything from research samples and bespoke sensors to complex industrial devices and heterogeneously integrated systems. As industries move toward greater customization, integration, and sustainability, ATLANT 3D provides the tools to build the future - atom by atom.
