Spin-off company from the Cell Reprogramming Lab at Lund University focusing on developing cancer immunotherapies based on direct cell reprogramming. Asgard Therapeutics was founded by three researchers Filipe Pereira, Cristiana Pires and Fábio Rosa, and LU Holding.
Previously, the same 3 researchers were working on applying direct cell reprogramming for blood regeneration and were awarded with European Comission Seal of Excellence for their SME instrument application Revolutionizing Transplantation Treatment of Blood Cancers Direct Reprogramming of Skin Cells into Blood Stem Cells. Now, they focused on exploring their dendritic cell reprogramming technology to develop a cancer gene therapy that forces cancer cells to become immunogenic again.
