Ascendance Flight Technologies

Ascendance is a European start-up based in Toulouse (France) that aims to support the decarbonization of the aviation sector and the democratization of SAF through hybrid-electric propulsion technologies. Its vision is based on two complementary and interdependent products with a high level of synergy and cross fertilization; The first product is STERNA: A hybrid electric propulsion system that can be retrofitted or line fitted in new or existing aircraft providing up to 50% gains on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The second product of Ascendance is ATEA, a piloted hybrid electric VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) aircraft that is powered by STERNA. ATEA’s first applications will be to replace light helicopters with 80% gains on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, and it will also service Regional Air Mobility (RAM) applications. The first version of ATEA can fit 4 passengers in addition to the pilot and has a range of 400 km.  Both ATEA and Sterna are compatible with Hydrogen and SAF
