tsenso is a food monitoring SaaS solution to improve the flow of information alng the food supply chain in order to tell the precise freshness and quality of food in real-time.

We link the storage monitoring data of the individual players in the food supply chain, such as producers, logistics, storage, retail and delivery services. Great care has been paid to data protection and confidentiality as well as to identify any manipulation, such as tempering with sensors.

The data gathered alows us ed to check whether the safety has actually been influenced by temperature fluctuations and whether the food is still suitable for sale and consumption, and how long the true remaining shelf-life is (the FreshIndex), as well as deeper analytics such as the efficiency of money spent on qualtiy assurance measures.

The FreshIndex is the new “expiry” date for food in place of the static best before date. Respecting EU food laws, it is not printed but can be read out via an app and displayed digitally, e.g. on digital price tags and in online grocery stores. Along the food supply chain, this means that on arrival it can be checked immediately in what condition the goods are.
Especially in online food stores the proof of quality of perishable products is important.  The FreshIndex offers for the first time to use prooven food freshness as a marketing tool. It increases transparency, strengthens customer confidence and can contribute significantly to reduce global food wastage.
