Unisphere is a deep-tech software start-up with the vision to enable all industries to commercially operate unmanned aircraft safely and efficiently. In 2017, Unisphere has therefore been selected for business incubation by the European Space Agency and today, it is a qualified entity of the Swiss Aviation Authority to review and approve risk assessments for unmanned aviation. With an agile team of ten renowned aviation and software experts, we have developed our “Flight Management Platform” (FMP) up to TRL 6. Until today, we have financed all developments of the FMP through profits from software-based consulting, engineering activities related to unmanned aircraft and public funding and expect a revenue of 500.000€ in 2020. Some of the main customers are the European Space Agency, Swiss Aviation Authority, Dutch Navy, Swiss Post, Roche, Lilium, Sceye and AeroVironment. Unisphere is the first of its kind to transfer pilot know-how into a software: our Flight Management Platform (FMP) is a disruptive, cloud-based software that enables fully digitalised autonomous drone services worldwide. Up to now, drone software companies focused either on (a) the general traffic management of drones and air taxis or (b) the autopilot. Unisphere is the first company to automate flight planning and execution, thus lowering the barriers associated with commercial operation of drones, thus helping industries and operators to tap into a market set to reach the €60 billion mark by 2035.
