Saathi

Saathi is a UN-recognized, award-winning sustainable consumer products company. We are making the world's first completely biodegradable and compostable sanitary pads using a common agricultural byproduct in India, banana tree fibre. We have a patent pending technology to convert agri-waste fibers into an absorbent material. We are addressing three major challenges directly with our product, 1) chemical filled sanitary pads, 2) lack of access to sanitary pads in rural areas, and 3) plastic waste produced by commercial sanitary pads. We are a team of founders from MIT, Harvard Business School, TU Delft and Nirma University, with experience in sustainable products, business, and engineering.
