MATERIOMICS

MATERIOMICS is a VC backed biotech company located in The Netherlands. Surface structure, next to chemical composition, directs the interaction between (medical) devices and (human) cells. Based on this concept -cell behavior is guided by surface structure- MATERIOMICS designs algorithm-based unique surface topographies to improve the performance of cell culture ware and medical devices.

Using our proprietary TopoChip technology we identify the optimal designed surface topography to functionalize cell culture ware and improve the condition, quality and quantity of cells cultured in vitro (in the lab). The revolutionary family of ACE products significantly enhance organ test model performance and make pharma, drug development and toxicology faster, more reliable and more successful.

Our first ACE product is ACE/liver. The current gold standard allows human liver cells to be cultured for max. 8 days while loosing their typical behavior and functionality,  requires complex coating conditions and is very limited in its use. In strong contrast, ACE/liver allows these cells to grow for a month, while remaining their typical behavior and functionality, and no coatings are needed. ACE products are in line with end-user pipelines as well as manufacturing processes.

Next to ACE, MATERIOMICS designs topographies to substantially augment medical implants including breast implants, catheters, orthopedic implants and biosensors. For every application MATERIOMICS has the best surface.
