Even as building exteriors become more and more perfectly insulated, the waste water still represents a huge “chink in the armor”. For the most part, heat energy is simply dumped down the drain. It’s crazy that this still goes on today…

This unsatisfactory reality nagged at us, and we began to experiment with homemade prototypes in the workshop and in our own showers.

After more than three years of experiments, measurements and optimization, we were able to found Joulia SA on 1 July 2010 to be responsible for the production, sale and marketing.

The heat recovering shower tray has been available on the market since September 2012

Second coup: “Joulia-inline” technology

We’ve received a huge amount of valuable feedback on the Joulia 90/90 from trade shows, product presentations, plumbing schools, building site visits and more. Thanks to the foresight of the Joulia SA board and the belief that energy efficiency is the wave of the future, we decided to act on it. With our second round of development we wanted to create a flexible, invisible solution that quickly pays for itself and that addresses the wishes of experienced plumbing installers, ambitious architects, plumbing wholesalers and general contractors. After countless hours spent sketching, discussing, prototyping, rejecting, measuring and optimizing, we are excited to present our second coup: our modular, scalable, super-efficient and affordable solution for the shower trays and shower channels of the future!
