Rubina Singh

Rubina is an early-stage VC investor focusing on deeptech and climatetech, most recently as Principal at Octopus Ventures, where she also established and led Octopus Springboard to support and accelerate sustainable deeptech companies. Previously, she established and led the innovation group at British Gas and led early-stage investments and technology strategy at Centrica Ventures. With a BEng and MEng in sustainable systems engineering, Rubina's career kicked off at Fraunhofer, where she worked as a solar engineer before heading up Fraunhofer TechBridge, a division dedicated to validating and backing early-stage cleantech startups. Rubina has more than a decade of experience as an engineer, operator and investor across technology development, commercialisation and investments across Europe, North America and Australia. Rubina also holds a number of advisory roles, with organisations including the European Innovation Council and the Solar Impulse Foundation. Rubina is passionate about empowering people of all backgrounds, and sits on the board of POWERful Women. Over the years, she's won a number of awards for her contribution to technology innovation, including the Innovator Award 2022.
