4AG Robotics builds robots that pick mushrooms.
Mushrooms are grown indoors, in large industrial facilities, and harvesting mushrooms is difficult work with unpleasant working conditions. The shortage of skilled labour in mushroom farms is an acute problem, and is also a major cost for farms, accounting for up to 50% of the cost of running a farm.
The mushroom industry is a $60bn industry, and is highly consolidated - with 2-6 farms accounting for 80% of the sales in most countries. Annual harvesting costs globally are $17bn.
4AG has created the first ever full labour replacement that picks, trims and packs mushrooms, and is able to yield 15-25% more yield than human harvesters.
We launched our 4th Generation robot on a commercial farm in British Columbia in January 2024, and have since sold $8.4m of robots to Ireland, Netherlands, Australia and the US - as farms have seen the effectiveness of our solution.
Our customers comprise 6 of the largest farms in the world, which, combined would require over $500m in robots to fully automate their farms.
4AG raised $17m in 2024 with the intention to complete the build and deployment of our 4th generation robot and secure further commercial sales.
Europe is our biggest market, and we are planning to have significant operations based in Europe, we are therefore interested in exploring European investment and partners who can help us establish our presence in Europe.
