Waste is displaced resource!

ROSI SAS, a French company from Grenoble, offers disruptive recycling technologies to the market of photovoltaic (PV).

ROSI technology recycles the materials from two waste flows in the PV industry.

First, the high value Silicon (Si) from ‘kerf’, a waste sludge generated during the production of wafers, containing highly pure Si but regarded as worthless industrial waste because of lack of recycling technologies. The recycled Si from ROSI technology can re-enter the PV production value chain from various points. In this way, ROSI technology manages the life cycle of Si along the PV module production value chain, thus leading to a truly circular economy.

Second, the valuable raw materials in the end-of-life PV modules. After decommission, these waste panels can be recycled by ROSI's high-grade recycling technology which aims to recover the materials with high purity. This includes high purity silicon, silver, copper, glass and aluminium. The recovered raw materials, especially the high-value adding applications of silicon and silver, can be reintegrated into several European key industries such as PV, semiconductor, battery, etc.

Currently (06.2022), ROSI is building our first industiral End-of-life PV recycling plant in France, this is a world-first demonstration of a high-grade PV recycling plant.
