Ecobank and Eyone Medical Join Forces: 40 Refurbished Computers Donated to Digitize Healthcare in Senegal
Within the framework of its societal program Wërgu Yaram, Eyone Medical is strengthening the digitalization of Senegal’s healthcare system through a strategic partnership with Ecobank Senegal. The first concrete action of this alliance consists of providing 40 refurbished computers, intended to equip public and community health facilities as of June 2025. This initiative aims to reduce the digital divide in healthcare and improve the quality of patient care across all regions of the country.
Background and Challenges
Eyone Medical, a 100% Senegalese e-health player, has been collaborating for several years with the Ministry of Health and Social Action to deploy the Shared Patient Record System.
Ecobank Senegal, a subsidiary of the pan-African group Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, regularly engages in high-impact social initiatives, particularly in favor of digital inclusion and public health.
Partnership Details
“Through this partnership, Ecobank Senegal has already provided Eyone with 40 refurbished computers to equip public or community health facilities as of June 2025,” specifies the press release.
This donation will notably allow the modernization of workstations, ensure secure archiving of medical records, and facilitate real-time access to health information.
Objectives and Benefits
- Capacity Building: these computers will support the daily work of healthcare professionals in both urban and rural areas, improving responsiveness and diagnostic reliability.
- Reducing the Digital Divide: by equipping facilities with suitable hardware, the partnership helps bring the most isolated areas closer to the digital tools needed for an optimized care pathway.
Henri Ousmane Gueye, CEO of Eyone Medical, emphasizes:
“This partnership marks a major step forward in our ambition to sustainably modernize the healthcare system in Senegal. It illustrates the importance of synergy between digital and banking sector actors.”
Sahid Yallou, CEO of Ecobank Senegal, adds:
“This collaboration embodies a shared ambition: to put digital technology at the service of health, social progress, and equity.”
