Introduction

In 2011, WHYLOT was founded in the Lot region, in Cambes, at the heart of the Mécanic Vallée. Romain Ravaud, a Ph.D. in mechatronics and an engineer specialized in vibrations and acoustics, decided to leverage his scientific research. His engineering firm embraces emerging disruptive technology by merging expertise in mechanics, electromagnetism, and thermodynamics.

Since its inception, we have been committed to developing a comprehensive and innovative solution, from design to testing and industrialization of high-performance and cost-effective axial flux electric motors.

The innovation driven by our high-tech gem is shaping the future of sustainable mobility. Our electrification solutions can power vehicles and onboard auxiliary systems.

Today, our industrial operations integrate the design and production of electric motors, along with the provision of advanced expertise to optimize each client's performance.

Our high-tech company, labeled French Tech 2030, embodies French excellence. It combines extensive research intensity, the convergence of specialized know-how, and the development of a high-performance industrial tool.

Our technology

WHYLOT offers a high-efficiency, high-performance, and cost-effective axial flux motor. Our patented technology addresses the challenges associated with sustainable mobility.

Historically, the predominant design for electric motors has been radial flux. However, the axial flux technology presents a compelling alternative due to its efficiency and economic advantages. This environmentally conscious solution is particularly well-suited for the electrification of transportation.

The axial flux motor presents several distinct advantages over its radial counterpart. It is lighter, more efficient, more compact, more powerful, and exhibits superior cooling capabilities.

Overcoming technological constraints, WHYLOT's research and development has led to the creation of innovative and reliable motor components, most notably the lossless rotor. The integration of these components renders our technology disruptive and unrivaled in the current market.

WHYLOT's innovations are grounded in advanced magnet and rotor/stator topologies, as well as specialized manufacturing materials. Compared to global competitors, the WHYLOT axial flux electric motor offers:

- Enhanced power: achieving higher speeds with unique efficiency
- Superior efficiency: minimized losses, reduced heat generation, and increased range
- Environmental responsibility: reduced energy consumption
