The mission of Thorizon is to contribute to the energy transition in a responsible way while becoming the global leader in molten salt reactor (MSR) technology by building on European expertise and partnerships. We are committed to make nuclear energy safer, more efficient, and more sustainable, contributing significantly to global decarbonization efforts. 

Our molten salt reactor (MSR) technology, centered around patented exchangeable salt cartridges, offers a safe, smart, and circular solution that unlocks the untapped energy potential in nuclear waste. We solved the two main molten salt reactor pain points, material integrity and fuel management, by exchanging cartridges every 5-10 years without ever touching the nuclear fuel. Our reactors can reuse long-lived nuclear waste as fuel, while leaving behind only the much shorter-lived radio-active elements. By leveraging existing nuclear permits and materials and with the help of our strategic partnerships across the nuclear and high-tech manufacturing ecosystems in Europe, we aim to have the first Thorizon One reactor commissioned by 2032.
