The first Bulgarian company with a stress management solution, Somenso, has won the “Innovative Product” Award from the Bulgarian Investment Agency
The recognition honors the company’s contribution to the Bulgarian economy through its development of the Practical Stress platform
Somenso, the country’s pioneering firm focused on managing stress, burnout, and mental health, received an honorary plaque at the “Investor of the Year 2024” ceremony. The award highlights its innovative Practical Stress platform—the first technological solution in Bulgaria with a patented algorithm for early detection and management of stress and burnout, as well as prevention of chronic diseases.
Founded by entrepreneur and psychophysiologist Silvia Kumanova, Somenso combines 30 years of scientific expertise with modern technology. The team, led by Scientific Director Prof. Dr. Yuliana Yordanova from the Institute of Neurobiology (BAS), developed Practical Stress. This unique platform integrates scientific methods and technology to support mental health and tackle socially significant issues. A key feature, Test My Stress, is a revolutionary tool with seven modules of psychological and physiological tests for comprehensive stress assessment. It was supported and funded by EEA Grants and Norway Grants, in collaboration with Sofia Tech Park’s Artificial Intelligence and CAD Systems Laboratory and the Discoverer supercomputer.
“Our investment is intellectual and aims to transform lifestyles,” said Silvia Kumanova during the ceremony. “Our project turns fundamental science into applied science to enhance prevention and quality of life. We believe this is the future of healthcare—addressing causes before symptoms emerge. We hope Somenso will become an ambassador for Bulgaria in Europe and beyond, promoting prevention globally.”
This “Innovative Product” award solidifies Somenso’s leadership in innovative health services, emphasizing prevention, quality of life, and long-term societal impact.
Held for the 19th time, the Bulgarian Investment Agency’s “Investor of the Year 2024” awards celebrated the most significant investment projects and companies driving Bulgaria’s economic development.
