Why us?  Estimated to be more than 20 million, ISO containers are mainly used for transport of materials and products but also a broad range of non-shipping applications as relief aid and refugee camps, construction sites, modular homes, etc.  The required power for temperature control, lighting and other loads is usually provided by noisy and polluting fuel powered generators.  Many containers are used in remote areas where fuel can be difficult or very expensive to access. Hence there is a strong market opportunity for technologies that provide power from renewable sources, eliminating or reducing the need for traditional generators.
SolarDrive Container Power has developed a solar power solution to specifically meet these needs. The Container Power System (CPS), is a plug & play, highly mobile unit, built as a flat container incorporating solar panels, batteries, inverters and control system. The CPS has successfully passed comprehensive tests caried out by the US Army/ATEC. Nevertheless, the civil market represents a larger market opportunity and to ensure market uptake, the production cost must be reduced and the performance increased.
