Seabased’s wave energy parks can deliver the immense power of ocean waves directly to the grid, 24 hours a day, all year. With a pipeline over €500 million (214 MW), our go-to-market product is cost-competitive and designed to scale.

Our wave power parks can operate alone, or with renewables like offshore wind, providing stable, CO2-free power to the grid. Our technology is protected by 327 patents in multiple jurisdictions worldwide. We've ocean tested full-scale generators in the seas of four countries, including connecting demonstration wave parks to the grid in Sweden and Ghana.

The parks are gentle on the ocean environment, acting as artificial reefs. 

We are in the final stages of testing and certification -  planning to install our first fully commercial pilot, and ramp up industrial production, in 2022.

The Technology

Buoys on the ocean's surface connect to linear generators that are protected on the seabed. The dense, heavy waves move the buoys and the buoys move the translator in the generator, producing power. A subsea electrical system converts that power to grid-ready electricity; standard sea cables deliver it to the grid.

The modular, scaleable parks can be installed quickly with light vehicles, and require no drilling or permanent installations.
