RIFT

RIFT is a Dutch clean-tech company pioneering Iron Fuel Technology: a circular, CO₂-free energy carrier designed to replace fossil fuels in high-temperature industrial processes. Our mission is to accelerate industrial decarbonization by delivering scalable, carbon-free heat solutions that are compatible with existing infrastructure.

Iron Fuel Technology operates on a closed-loop principle. Iron powder is combusted to release high-temperature heat, producing iron oxide as a solid residual. This oxidized material is then transported to a dedicated fuel plant where it is reduced back to pure iron using renewable hydrogen — enabling full circularity without carbon emissions. The iron powder can be reused indefinitely in this cycle, combining the reliability of solid energy carriers with the sustainability of clean molecules.

RIFT develops both the core Iron Fuel Boiler system and the supporting Iron Fuel Production infrastructure. Our first commercial Iron Fuel project is currently in development, supported by signed offtake agreements and strategic partnerships. The company is based in the Netherlands, with a growing team and backing from institutional investors and public innovation programs. We are actively preparing for the first industrial deployment of our technology, targeting sectors with hard-to-abate heat demand.
